What Is Recess Infant Care?

Recess Infant Care provides a calm, loving start for babies in their first year. Every caregiver is trained in early development, safety, and responsive care — nurturing your baby’s emotional and physical growth through consistency, affection, and trust.

With small class sizes, individualized attention, and a quiet, soothing environment, Recess feels like an extension of home — not a center.

FAQs

How do you handle each baby’s unique schedule?

Every infant follows their own natural rhythm — and we honor that. Our teachers adjust feeding, nap, and play times individually based on your baby’s home routine. Parents share updates at drop-off, and our team keeps detailed daily notes to ensure consistency and comfort.

What kind of training do your infant caregivers have?

Our infant teachers are trained in early childhood development, safe sleep practices, first aid, and CPR. They’re also experienced in understanding cues, comforting babies, and creating secure attachment through warm, responsive care.

How do you handle feeding — breastmilk, formula, or solids?

We follow your preferences exactly. You provide breastmilk or formula as needed, and our teachers carefully label, store, and feed your infant according to best practices. For babies starting solids, we introduce foods gradually in coordination with your guidance.

What does safe sleep look like at Recess?

We follow all AAP safe sleep guidelines: infants are placed on their backs in individual cribs with firm mattresses and fitted sheets — no blankets, pillows, or toys. A staff member is always present and monitoring, with soft lighting and sound machines to help babies rest peacefully.

How do you ensure my baby is safe at all times?

Safety is our top priority. Teachers maintain constant supervision, follow strict check-in procedures, and adhere to safe sleep and feeding guidelines. Every space is designed with your baby’s security and comfort in mind.

The gentlest start to growing up

Your baby’s first care experience should feel personal, peaceful, and full of love. At Recess, we provide the security
and attention your child needs to thrive – while giving you the confidence and peace of mind to focus on your day.
