Tracy Hewitt

Head of Programs

Tracy Hewitt has 13 years of experience as an educator and program leader with a strong focus on social-emotional learning, STEM, and inclusive education. At Recess, she leads classroom experiences and community events that inspire growth and connection. With a Master’s in STEM Education and over a decade of teaching and program management experience, Tracy is passionate about hands-on learning, equity in education, and building meaningful relationships with children and families.

Hermelinda Ramos

Lead Teacher

Hermelinda is the Lead Teacher at Recess, where she brings both creativity and care into the classroom. With a passion for helping children learn and grow, she creates a warm, engaging environment where every child feels supported. Outside of teaching, Hermelinda loves expressing herself through art and enjoys horseback riding—interests that inspire her to bring imagination and energy into her daily work with children.

Sage Torrisi

Assistant Teacher

Sage is the Assistant Teacher at Recess. A recent graduate of George Washington University with a degree in psychology, Sage is planning to pursue a master’s in Pediatric Occupational Therapy. With a lifelong passion for working with children, Sage is excited to help create a fun, creative, and intellectually stimulating space for kids to learn and explore at Recess.
