Two facilities, split by age
Liberties Walk
1040 N American St
6 weeks – 15 months

Baby sensory, music, and milestone play in our infant facility. The space is intentionally small and calm, so parents don't stay — ever. Your window into the day is the Recess app: milestone notes and photos, same day. Babies join every activity around their own feeding and nap schedules.

Iron Works
1018 Germantown Ave
15 months – 6 years

Art studio, STEM lab, theater, music, and movement — full drop-off from Early Bird through the afternoon. Then one special hour: Together Time at 5pm, when parents come in for family music, yoga, open gym, and the day's mini-showcase. It's the only hour parents are in the room, and it's optional.

Programs we'd run
  • Baby Sensory Lab
    Sensory

Lights, textures, water trays, high-contrast play — a lab for brand-new senses.

  • Music & Bounce
    Music

Songs, rhythm shakers, and lap bounces the whole room shares.

  • Milestone Gym
    Movement

Tummy time, crawl courses, and pull-to-stand stations — organized around the milestones you're watching for.

  • Golden Hour Wind-Down
    Calm

Dim lights, lullabies, gentle sensory play to land the day softly.

  • Mess Lab
    Art

The mess happens here, not your kitchen: giant canvases, clay, real paint at full scale.

  • Move Crew
    Movement

Sports-style fitness: obstacle courses, ball skills, relay games — with a badge sticker earned every single session.

  • Tinker Lab
    STEM

Build-and-test challenges with a finished creation every session — a bridge that held, a rocket that flew.

  • Story Theater
    Theater / Literacy

Today's storybook is today's show — every class opens with a picture book, then that book becomes the play the kids build and perform.

  • Move & Groove
    Movement / Dance

Dance-style fitness: rhythm games, obstacle stations, freeze dance, and creative movement — closing with a mini-performance every session.

  • Together Time
    Parent + Child

The one hour parents come in: family music, family yoga, open gym — and the daily mini-showcase of whatever today's classes made, built, or rehearsed.

Logistics
Locations
Liberties Walk, 1040 N American St (6 weeks–15 months, drop-off only) · Iron Works, 1018 Germantown Ave (15 months–6 years, incl. the 5pm Together Time hour). The buildings are a short walk apart — Together Time with your big kid ends right at the baby's 6pm pickup next door.
Drop-off & pickup
Classes are drop-off: authorized adults sign in at drop-off and out at pickup with ID, per our secure-release procedures. Parents don't stay for classes — the only parent-in-room hour is Together Time at Iron Works.
Group size & staff
Max 12 children per room with at least two background-cleared, CPR-certified adults — the same caregiver team from our everyday licensed care.
Naps & rest
Infants nap on their own schedules (morning naps included) through every block. Both facilities protect a 1–3pm rest window — nappers nap, non-nappers get quiet versions of the day's program.
What to pack
Water bottle, snack, and a full change of clothes (Mess Lab means it); add lunch for midday and immersive blocks, bottles and nap items for infants, nap linens for toddler nappers. All food comes from home — enrichment activities never involve food.
Booking & pricing
Book blocks in the Recess app. Enrollment is free and month-to-month with health records required. Blocks are priced per session with sibling and essential-worker discounts; scheduled-care families can apply plan hours. See the pricing calculator for rates.
Screen-free
Fully screen-free, like everything at Recess — hands, imaginations, and friends only.

FAQs

Do parents stay during classes?

No — every class is drop-off. You sign in, hand off, and go; our licensed caregiver team runs the room and your app delivers updates. The one exception is Together Time, the optional 5–6pm family hour at Iron Works, where parents are the point.

Which facility does my child attend?

By age: Liberties Walk (1040 N American St) runs the infant program for 6 weeks–15 months; Iron Works (1018 Germantown Ave) runs 15 months–6 years. Siblings attend their own facility during the same hours — the buildings are a short walk apart.

Does everyone really do the same activity?

Yes — each facility runs one whole-room program per block, tiered by age inside the same theme. In Tinker Lab, a 2-year-old stacks and rolls while a 5-year-old predicts, tests, and rebuilds.

Do classes run as multi-week series?

No — deliberately. Every class is complete in one visit, with its own project, performance, or badge earned the same day. Book any block, any weekend, with zero commitment and nothing to miss.

Can parents join at the infant facility?

No — Liberties Walk is drop-off only all day. The infant space is intentionally small and calm, and your window into the day is the app: milestone notes and photos, same day.

Why do classes start at 9am instead of 8?

Because that's when weekend families are genuinely ready: 9–11am is the proven prime window and 3–5pm the post-nap second peak. Doors still open at 8 for Early Bird open play, and FlexCare runs 6:30am–8pm around it all.

Can my child stay all day (8am–6pm)?

Yes — stack blocks from Early Bird through Golden Hour or Together Time for a full drop-off day; lunch and rest are built into midday. Regular weekend FlexCare covers before 8am and after 6pm, until 8pm.

Do the classes involve food or cooking?

No — enrichment activities never involve food. All eating happens at supervised meal and snack times with food packed from home, consistent with our allergy-safe policy.

How do naps work during enrichment?

Infants nap on their own schedules through every block. At both facilities, 1–3pm is a protected rest window — nappers sleep while non-nappers do quiet-table versions of the day's program.

Are the same classes offered every weekend?

The block structure repeats weekly so booking stays predictable, but themes rotate every weekend — and every class is fully standalone.
